International Pet Travel Dog Travel Forum

All - I was wondering whether anyone has experience travelling from the U.S. to Dubai with a pet? I was planning to travel emirates but it seems they won't let the dog in the cabin and she'd have to be in cargo for 12+ hours (with noone checking on her). They also told me it would cost $1100. Does anyone have any suggestions? She is a small Shih Tzu.
