Pets in the Cabin

Unfortunately, pets are not permitted to fly in the cabin with China Airlines.

Pets in Checked Baggage

Cats and dogs can travel as checked baggage with China Airlines. Fees for transporting pets is determined by the weight of the pet and carrier. Fixed rates are set for pets under 70 lbs (32 kg), while pets weighing from 70-99 lbs (32-45 kg) will be charged double and pets weighing over 99 lbs (45 kg) will be charged treble.

Carrier Guidelines

For pets traveling as checked baggage, carriers that exceed the combined dimensions of 115" (292 cm) will be charged as two pieces of excess baggage. Pets must be able to lie down, turn around, and move around the carrier comfortably. Carriers must have ventilation on 3 sides for animals to breathe throughout the journey. Inside the carrier, there should be water and food for your pet during the flight.

Other Restrictions

Pets that have a strong odor won't be accepted in the hold. Pregnant pets won't be accepted within 7 days of giving birth. They don't accept the following dog breeds to travel at any time: American Pit Bull, American Staffordshire Terrier, Fila Brazileiros, Japanese Tosa, Pit Bull Terrier, Dogo Argentino, Boston Terrier, Boxer, Brussels Griffon, Bull Terrier, Chinese Pug, Dutch Pug, English Bulldog, English Toy Spaniel, French Bulldog, Japanese Chin, Lhasa Apso, Pekinese, Shih Tzu, Tibetan Spaniel, Chow Chow. Additionally, the following cat breeds are not accepted: Burmese, Exotic Shorthair, Himalayans, Persians (Including Chinchilla).
