Ethiopian Airlines accepts a limited number of dogs or cats into the cabin on each flight: 2 in Economy class and 1 in business class. The combined weight of the pet and carrier cannot exceed 17 lbs (8 kg) to qualify for travel in the cabin. The fee for this service depend on the size of your animal and travel plans, and is charged at 3 times the usual excess charge rate. The excess baggage fee ranges between $100-370.

For pets traveling in the cabin, carriers must not exceed the dimensions of 21" x 15" x 8" (55 cm X 40 cm X 20 cm). For pets traveling as checked baggage, carriers will exceed 21" x 15" x 8" (55 cm X 40 cm X 20 cm).

  Excellent airline for pet in cabin

  I have flown long-haul via Addis with my miniature wire haired dachshund on two seperate occasions with Ethiopian Airlines and both times were hassle free. Called beforehand to ask if there was availibility on the flights I wanted to book, booked flights, immediately phoned back and booking was accepted and confirmed a few minuted later. Staff onboard and at check in was always very pet friendly on all 8 long haul flights so far. Can definitely recommend this airline for travelling with a pet. Their rates are also very competitive compared to other airlines.

  Very good experience

  I used Ethiopian airlines to fly with my pet in cabin. It was a good experience! I never had any problems. Big up for the company!
