Entry Requirements

Complete the following entry requirements to travel to Chile with your pet:
  • Bring a health certificate signed by a licensed veterinarian within 10 days of departure with the veterinarian's license number in Spanish and English, stating that your pet is free of any clinical signs of infectious diseases. The certificate needs to have the name and address of the owner and complete identification of the animal.
  • Be sure that your pet is vaccinated against rabies. The vaccine must be given no more than 12 months and no earlier than 21 days prior to departure. A rabies vaccination certificate, which should include the date of vaccination, product name and serial number, must accompany the health certificate. If your pet is too young to receive the rabies vaccination, please contact Chilean Animal Health Officials to determine if your pet will be allowed to travel to Chile.
  • Pets also need to be treated against endo- and ecto-parasites with broad-spectrum antiparasitics within 5 to 30 days prior to entering Chile. The date of deworming must be indicated in the export veterinary certificate.
