Room was clean; didn’t feel like a “dog room.” Staff was very nice. There was grass right by the parking lot. We were only there one night, but we enjoyed our stay.

The ground is covered with larger wood chips, but it does prevent mud. There are 2 fenced sections, one for small and another for large dogs. Poop bags and trash cans are provided, and there are benches for dog parents. No trees or water , but our pup enjoyed stretching her legs while we were traveling.

Positives: there was some grass for dogs. Negatives: this place was filthy. When we walked into our room, the stench of urine was very strong, even though they had sprayed an overload of room freshener and had the windows open (on a chilly night). The only clean things were the bed sheets. I hope I never have to stay here again.

The hotel looks relatively new. Rooms are spacious, nice amount of room for the two of us and our pup. Pet rooms are on the first and second floors. There is a decent amount of grass (and complimentary waste bags) between the hotel parking lot and Cracker Barrel next door. Location is pretty close to the interstate, but we did not hear highway noise. Nice hot breakfast, too.
As mentioned by others, the view of Lake Michigan is beautiful, while the dog park is very basic. The area is fenced with nice grass, so our pups were able to run and stretch their legs. No running water or bags to pick up after your pet. Be advised that it is probably 1/3 mile hike from the parking lot to the dog park, and the winds from the lake can be quite gusty!

We only explored the fenced area for small dogs. It was in rough shape. Rugged terrain, no grass, steep and overgrown with weeds. Not conducive to running or chasing a ball. The large dog area looked much bigger, but when we visited, the large dogs were aggressive, even through the fence at our small pups.

Such a great spot for many ice cream choices, along with a wide selection of treats, collars, toys, etc. Really a great find! Highly recommend!

Loved everything about this hotel, except it was a bit of a walk to the grass. Rooms were spacious, great view; kitchen was nice.

Rooms were great for dogs - no carpet. Recent renovation bright trendy retro decor. Nice pool. The place just seemed not quite ready for prime time. Ordered food from the bar which never showed up; bartender was also front desk clerk, and technology to deliver orders to the kitchen wasn’t working. The place had great potential; just hot they can survive to make a go of it.

The hotel is really in need of a deep clean and updating. Glad we were only there one night.
