My husband Andrew and I joined Bring Fido so we know all the great places we travel with our Dachshund Lilly.

Strong dog points

The Beaches Guest Rooms and Cottages

This is place is very dog friendly if you're looking to travel with your pup. There were at least 6 dogs during our stay. They have a small motel strip, around 6 free standing cottages, and an additional 2 story hotel. Buildings are very close each other (ie property isn't huge) so if your dog is easily distracted you may have a hard time as you'll see people coming going walking around etc. The property also isn't very far off the road so there is a fair amount of traffic noise as well. There is a fenced pool area (no dogs) and plenty of seating around - lounge chairs, picnic tables, grills, and other dining sets and swing seats. Great location close to everything and very friendly staff. Nice grassy areas for pups and it was clean. Only downside, we stayed in a cottage and the photos definitely make the space seem nicer, bigger, and newer than it really was. Felt like we traded some quality in order to bring the dog, especially for the price. Shower was extremely small also: felt like barely enough room to turn around. Water was hot though!

Dog friendly but SLOW

A Cafe & Bakery

This cafe is lovely. It's in a small plaza joint with other shops that all share a beautiful patio area. Lots of out door tables with umbrellas to sit with your pup. However, ordering was terribly slow. Like at least 20 minutes in line slow. My husband had ordered first. I went in after and I heavily considered letting him eat his food (which he got before I ever ordered) and I would go somewhere else. The food was good and didn't take too long once ordered, but honestly not worth the wait.
