We are semi-retired couple, and have a 12 year old Yorkie that has separation anxiety, so she MUST go where we go.

Nicely kept picnic area that is doggie friendly

Bentley's Roast Beef

Took my BF to celebrate his 60th but he is the babysitter when I'm out so we had to take Rosie with us. She has severe separation anxiety, which could cause a problem with our neighbors if left alone.

We live close to Main Street where they have "dog friendly" restaurants but it's on Main Street and I feared that it would be too much for my 12 year old Yorkie with the traffic, noise, and so many people. Seating has been extended into the parking and one traffic lane on either side, so traffic is CLOSE.

We chose Bentley's because we had it in mind that we would be getting seafood and we'd read a lot of great reviews about their food being very good no matter what you order. It's also next to a busy route 101A but it is separated by a very large fountain with a waterfall, that acts as a sound barrier.

The grounds are very clean and pleasant. There is a sign that says: "No dog walking allowed" that I'm guessing means do not curb your dog there so you don't ruin the dinning experience for others. Bring your dog AWAY from the area if needed, which we were careful to monitor Rosie in case she had "to go".

I can't say how "dog friendly" the staff was because my BF went inside to order while I stayed outside with Rosie. I don't even know if they knew she was there and we brought a small cooler with water in it and her a food bowl.

We were the only people in the area for a while and then a few more couples came in, one with a Boston Terrier in a stroller. I asked if I could take a photo of their dog and they were happy to allow it. Their dog is elderly and has mobility issue so that's why the stroller was necessary.

To be honest, I thought the stroller was pretty sharp looking and wish Rosie's previous mom hadn't bought that gaudy neon pink stroller with white polka-dots for Rosie before I adopted her.

I'm not sure but I THINK I heard a staff member offer them water for their dog, and I'm sure that they had to have seen the bowls we had down for Rosie so I didn't feel slighted that none was offered for her.

We went for seafood but opted for the Bentley's Steak Sub instead. It was HUGE and VERY tasty! Rosie was happy to have a little shred of beef now and then in her bowl once we were almost done eating.

We feel it's OUR responsibility to bring supplies for the dog, and not theirs, so I made it a point to bring our own food and water for Rosie, as well as poop bags if needed. We also made sure to walk her away from the property if she showed signs that she needed relief. She didn't but I guess she felt she had to sniff... ;)

This was our first time and I didn't have much to base my review on since we had little interaction with the staff, but the grounds for cleanliness and atmosphere were top notch! We will have to return to see if I can add the 5th bone and a new review.

I would recommend taking your leashed and well trained, socialized dog with you to dine with you at Bentley's and enjoy their awesome food.
