Want to take dog to beach

From what i have read, Myrtle Beach has the best policy for dogs on the beach. I am wanting to take my Minnie Aussie to MB and he will be left on a leash. However, due to past trauma, my dog will not allow anyone to get close to me. He will nip them. I plan to go during non busy season. Also, if another dog runs up to my dog(and me), my dog will not tolerate that either and a fight usually ensues. So I see the need to leave dogs on leashes.
