Friendly. Great food.

Pacific Point Market & Cafe

Little building with a walk up counter and lots of picnic tables outside. We got a salmon burger and a salad. Both were fitted with tons of toppings and delicious. They were so friendly and chill.

Amazing!

Motel 6 Santa Barbara CA - Beach

Clean, friendly service, great location. Has a tiny grassy patch behind the dumpsters (sounds gross but its actually pretty nice). Short walk to the beach. Beach rules state no dogs on the beach itself, but we saw many people walking their dogs on the beach. Rule followers can still enjoy the view by walking on the paved trail next to it. 40min walk to the wharf. Very short drive to everything else. Couple cute restaurants and places to go in walking distance. If you do stay in Santa Barbara, we recommend checking out the botanical gardens. A little pricey but dogs are allowed for free.

Cute, Very Historic

Hotel Arcata

Lots of stores in the area are dog friendly. You can’t take your pup with you in the dining room area. Clean enough, just crack the window to get the “historic” smell out. Shower curtain was gross. We parked right out front of the hotel on the square (we only stayed one night) and felt safe even with the rooftop carrier full. No designated dog area. The park outside states no dogs but many people were walking their dogs in it.

Great deal

Valley River Inn

Rooms are spacious and clean. Desk, TV, and small patio (or balcony for floors 2+). I think all the dogs are in a specific wing so the doors can open to the grassy area. Cute little river walk. We needed a place to stay and booked this last minute. Very friendly staff. It was the day after a rain and the city (and river?) smelled terrible. Couldn't smell it from inside though.

Rude and Dirty

Aloft Oklahoma City Downtown Bricktown

Find somewhere else. Manager when we arrived was terrible. Incredibly rude. We were not given ANY dog amenities when checking in. When we approached the front desk about it they dishonestly said that they had asked us and we declined them. Eventually we were given some dirty dog bowls (white bowls that had crusted brown goo in them?). Rooms in general were disgusting. Hair everywhere. Dog pee on the floor in the room. Very very overpriced. Music from bar downstairs is loud. Neighbors louder. Getting in/out of the hotel to get to the dog park is a hassle. Their “dog area” actually belongs to the dog store next door, but that's where they direct all guests as if they own it. Second bone is because the staff working when we left in the morning were very friendly and nice. We received a milk bone on our way out.

Absolutely Amazing

Valley of Fire State Park

Everything is dog friendly (except for inside buildings, aka the visitors center). We stayed in the Atlatl Rock campground. Sites 20, 21, and 22 are all tucked back in their own private areas off the road (you have to park and then walk to the site) but the rest are like any other campground. The trails are all beautiful and dog friendly. We visited in February and it was beautiful. Got a little cold at night but when huddled together we were fine.

Best restaurant experience we’ve had

The Cruisery

Staff is amazing. Our two dogs were able to sit inside with us. They were respectful and understanding of our nervous dog and gave us a good table for him. Our outgoing dog was treated like royalty. Had her own little menu, highchair, and dinner.

Hidden Gem

The BoatHouse Cafe & Grille

Made our stay in Meadview worth it. Staff was amazing and very dog friendly. We were given the option to sit inside but opted for the patio because it was a nice day (and it’s a great patio). Part of the patio is even gated off. Very diverse menu, generous portions, and even has options for dogs. Ours ordered grilled chicken. Wonderful experience.

Great staff. Tasty food.

Convivo Restaurant & Bar

Staff was amazing. Very friendly and accommodating for our dogs (even our nervous one). We sat on the patio and the weather was beautiful. Amazing view.

Just a heads up - There are some persistent birds on the patio that spent some time teasing our pups. We shooed them off until eventually they just sat in the bushes. Watching.

Beautiful!

Blue Mesa Road

Easy, paved trail that only has a little uphill at the end. Amazing views. Definitely worth the visit.

So cool!

Petrified Forest National Park

We spent a few hours here as a detour on our trip out west. Such a unique and beautiful experience. We wandered around the wilderness area by the Inn where there are no trails or structure or anything. Lots of petrified wood when you get down a little ways. Did the blue mesa trail (paved, beautiful, pretty easy other than a little uphill). The overlooks/stops along the road were great.
Highly recommend, even if you only have an hour or two.

Amazing!

Valley of Fire State Park

Definitely visit if you can. None of the official park trails take very long and are absolutely stunning. There are other trails hidden around, but we stuck to the main ones. Bighorn sheep followed us on Rainbow Vista and White Domes.

Lovely. Great nature walk

Santa Barbara Botanic Gardens

Absolutely beautiful. Staff was amazing.
You can choose to stick to the paved trail or venture off on the more “rugged” paths that intertwine.
Dogs get in for free. Doggie bags provided if you need them. It’s all outside.
You can walk the whole thing on only a couple hours.

Amazing patio. Great year round

BRU Burger Bar

We love bru burger! The food is amazing (fellow veggies can sub a bean patty on any burger). The patio is cute and in a great spot on mass ave to people watch. The summer has nice greenery and the winter comes with more than ample heating. Water bowls and treats for the pups :)
