Nice dog-walking areas
La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Denver GoldenWe stayed two nights at this La Quinta. Our room was quiet, the neighborhood was nice, especially for being so close to the freeway. The pool was crystal clear and inviting (we did not swim). All the grounds beyond the parking lot were well-manicured with grass lawn, shrubbery, trees and reeds. The designated pet area had a trash can with poop bags provided. In other grass areas there was enough poop piles that one had to watch his step; not La Quinta's fault as people are rude pigs. All the dogs we saw were leashed and controlled.
Our room had a comfortable bed, the water pressure was good, TV service was basic but had a channel for Netflix so we could sign in with our account, the toilet seat was wobbly, the AC was a little noisy but not bad. The lobby and breakfast area was very pleasant and the breakfast offerings were pretty good; waffles (the only hot item), yogurt, cheese, hard boiled eggs, muffins, bagels and bread with a toaster, oatmeal, fruit, cereal/milk, coffee, juices. The staff was also all very nice and helpful.

About what I expected
Motel 6 Denver CO - DowntownWe stayed two nights. The room was small but clean and comfortable. AC worked well. There was almost no water flow from the sink faucet, though the tub faucet was fine. People talked and argued into the wee hours outside the rooms. Several times our door knob was jiggled by people walking by. Ice machines were out of order. No microwave, but there was a small fridge. TV stations were very limited, but there were 2 HBO channels. But, it was a Motel 6 in a not great neighborhood near the freeway, so all of this was about what we expected for the price.
The dog walking areas were dirt and weeds (our dogs didn't mind). There were 3 poop disposal cans that were overflowing with trash. Poop bags were available at one station. Trash and accumulated unpicked-up poop were abundant. Most of the guest dogs we saw were medium to large breed dogs, all well-behaved and under control.
