Nice spot, no issues

Residence Inn by Marriott West Orange

Patch had a great stay here as there are plenty of places to walk around, take potty breaks, and just chill, whether in the room or the common area of the hotel. Nothing above and beyond, but I would definitely stay there with him again.

Great staycation

The George

Patch and I stayed here overnight for a work trip and then stuck around to use the library area to work during the day once my meetings were done. I was able to leave Patch in the room while I was away, and they accommodated a late check out so I didn’t have to check out early and leave him in the car during my morning meetings for 2 hours (phew!). They brought me a mini fridge for his food, and everyone there absolutely loved him, employees and guests alike. There’s no restaurant, but the hotel breakfast is great, and they serve the BEST cookies and have a bar open in the evenings. Highly recommend you grab a book and head here for a quiet cozy staycation if you can!

Favorite stay with my pup EVER

Holiday Inn Resort Jekyll Island an IHG Hotel

Patch and I travel a lot. This spot and location in general were so nice that we woke up and extended our stay by another 5 nights! There were tons of dogs staying there but everyone was respectful of watching out for and also not getting in anyone’s way. There was plenty of room for everyone. Our morning walks on the beach were a dream come true and evenings by the hotel fire pit were perfect too. The hotel allowed us in the lobby area which came in handy when we didn’t have a room to stay in yet, and during a tornado watch just before we left. And rooms had magnets identifying the presence of a dog and requesting that staff do not enter. Everyone was welcoming, and we can’t wait to visit again. Patch gives this place 4 paws up!

Nice rooms, no pet fee

Aloft Jacksonville Airport

I generally love the Aloft hotels, and our stay here was nice, but it was a little difficult to adjust to/accept after we spent the previous night at the other Jax location, which welcomed Patch with open arms, loving smiles, and even a welcome goody bag with a (full) poop bag dispenser, mini frisbee, and treats. The room sizes also felt significantly different. (This one was $20 cheaper and felt $20 cheaper.) With that said, we had an easy stay and didn’t have any issues, and it’s still better than most motels, so I’d still recommend it!

Great stopover

Comfort Inn Dunn Near I-95

Patch and I have stayed here multiple times, as it’s become a perfect place for us to stop between bigger cities while traveling. Only an hour from Raleigh but significantly cheaper and right off the highway so you can get right on your way. 10/10 we’ll continue staying here when traveling through.

Just outside of the city

Days Inn by Wyndham Jacksonville Airport

The motel was fine. We didn’t have any issues, but it wasn’t anything special either. It’s close to a lot of stores which was convenient because we needed that but also close enough that we could go into the city for breakfast. The room was okay… nothing great but not bad. Just old and basic, but clean enough. You know that when you’re booking at a Days Inn.

Good food, good spot (with space!)

Gilligan's Seafood

The patio is open to dogs and everyone who works here came by to say hi :) we came on a Saturday night during Labor Day weekend, and it was pretty empty, which I loved. The seafood tasted fresh even though it was fried. No dog bowls for water or anything, but I also brought my own because it was dinner time for Patch. I can imagine it being overwhelming at certain times of the day, esp. not on a holiday weekend, but this visit was great.

Would we come back? Yes.

1st floor room, no carpet, easy access to grass

Quality Inn & Suites Hardeeville - Savannah North

This was night 3 of a road trip with stops at various Quality Inns, and I absolutely loved how easy it was to check into and stay at each spot. There was nothing special for Patch at any of the locations, but the rooms were clean enough, and we were only there for sleepy time and breakfast before we moved on. There were some stray kittens near the parking lot fence, one of which we almost got into a fight with. I didn't see it, and my bold dog decided to head straight towards it because we have a lot of mean strays in our neighborhood at home too. Just beware of that at night... otherwise, great stay. I'd stay here again.

Great location, close to Roanoke and hiking

Quality Inn Troutville - Roanoke North

Unrelated to dogs -this place had some of the best bed sheets I’ve ever experienced, even better than some of the really nice hotels I stay in for work! Super soft, smooth, and cooling. The room was supposed to be a non-smoking room, but they were out of rooms, so it definitely had that post-cigarette smell, but it wasn’t that bad, I guess. For that reason, I gave it a 3 instead of a 4 though. No special doggy treatment or anything, but it was a good location with grassy areas around for Patch to potty, close to where I wanted/needed to be, and I would definitely stay there again. Also, the lady who checked me in was very sweet, and made sure we knew that she was around until the morning in case we needed anything at all or had questions.
