We have a sweet rescue black lab mix named Kali. We enjoy long walks or hikes daily with her. We also like to take car trips now that we can spend the time to do that.

PROS: We loved Rachel. Rachel is very friendly and helpful. She recommended drives for us and another guest suggested a couple of hikes that both were wonderful. Kaeley did a nice job on breakfast every making sure everything was stocked, restocked, and tables were cleaned. She also checked us out. She performed a lot of tasks efficiently. She is a hard worker. The pool is lovely, and it was very nice to have it to ourselves. The hotel is very clean. We saw Kaeley vacuuming in the main entrance a few times.
When we were tired, the 19th Hole Bar and Grill behind the hotel provided good food and service. Kyle did a great job about 9am changing our sheets, adding towels, TP, and vacuuming. She was extremely nice and polite. We appreciated it!

CONS: Another front desk employee was not very friendly or helpful. He acted like checking us in was an imposition. I realize that the service industry is having a hard time hiring people, yet this family-owned hotel needs to train some of their employees to be more courteous to hotel guests. We also saw him out front smoking several times. He also didn't know we had a pet upon arrival, and didn't key our room card properly. We schlepped back down to the front desk and same front desk guy rekeyed our cards. He acted like it had never happened before and it was our fault.

There are no elevators in the hotel. That was not mentioned upon booking. Our room was halfway down the hall, so it was inconvenient and the farthest room from either the main or the side entrances. While we don’t mind walking, a second-floor room is not the most convenient for bringing luggage in and out, and definitely not as convenient for taking pets in and out. We asked if they had a different room and was told no. Period. We saw other people with pets on the main floor so that was also disappointing.

After 3 nights there, we requested new towels, sheets, and vacuuming on 9/21/22. Nothing was done when we arrived back on 9/21/22. My husband asked the head housekeeper who insisted that our Do Not Disturb (DND) was on the door, so nothing was done. We left at 9:45 that morning and removed the DND from the door while one of the housekeepers was right there and went in our room, so we assumed all was okay. Apparently, she only checks once and that’s it. She should have checked a bit later instead of doing it so early. She was rude to my husband and insisted that our DND was on the door when he reiterated that we took it off at 9:45 after breakfast. She didn't offer to provide anything, so he had to ask her for new towels.

Again, a little training for being polite and respectful goes a long way. We would consider staying again if we could be assured to have a main floor pet room closer to the entrance.
