Exactly what I wanted

This is the first time I've travelled with my beagle, and I was thrilled to find Red Roof Plus. I was not expecting The Four Seasons, so the accommodations were perfect. Clean, secure, spacious room with TV, fridge, microwave, lots of pillows, great shower, coffee and snacks. Staff was friendly & helpful, and free ample parking was appreciated. I deducted one star (bone) because of the condition of their behind-the-building doggy relief area. In theory, it's a fabulous idea - somewhere to bring the dogs so they don't have to be walked alongside the highway. But it was nasty!

I understand that no employee wants to be the one on poop detail, but SOMEONE needs to tend to that part of the property. Both trash cans were overflowing with baggies of dog poop, and it's not that they accumulated that day...mine was the only dog I saw all day/night/next morning. Also, that section behind the back parking lot was covered in trash, including a bunch of beer bottles; it looked like a spot where high school kids come to hang out and "party." But other than that, we had a very nice overnight stay at Red Roof Plus Alexandria, and I recommend it to future visitors travelling in that area!
