Rude staff; wifi did not work (had to do the staff's job and call technical support). La Quinta was a great chain before Wyndham bought them.

Better Than Nothing

Hotel needs work. Pool wasn't open the whole time we were there. The water was green. When I asked the front desk about it, I was told the maintenance man was waiting on shock. We saw him coming and going, but it never opened. The first morning, I took two half-pints of milk from the refrigerator, and when I poured it into a glass, chunks came out. I looked at the date on the container, and it was August 10. Unfortunately, that morning was September 1, over three weeks past the expiration date. Several guests left their dogs to whine and bark all day. Lucky us, we were next to one of those rooms, which had a door to join the two rooms together.

The people next door were extremely loud with a child that kept blowing a whistle. They blasted their TV all the time, and their dog cried when they left. The first night, one of the women put her phone on SPEAKER and yelled into her phone for over thirty minutes. I can repeat her call verbatim. Getting back to breakfast, one group of 12-15 went to the breakfast room and took over all the chairs and tables and descended like locusts on the food. They grabbed chairs from other tables, leaving no place to sit. The food that morning--what was left of it--consisted of ice cold scrambled eggs and bacon. Another morning was chorizo and eggs with potatoes slathered in cumin. The former looked like something a dog would eat.

The "business center" (Ha!) consisted of an incredibly slow computer that kept flashing "Your McAfee Virus Protection is expired!" and a printer that had a message stating "Several cartridges are missing." The room we were in had broken shower equipment (it was a roll in shower and the bar that lets the user put the handheld shower there) had been replaced with the piece left behind, and the lower showerhead had been removed, but the bracket was still glued to the wall. No bar soap was provided, only bath gel. The shampoo was low-quality Paul Mitchell. Furnishings were dated and dinged. The mattresses were lumpy.

They only allow dogs in a pet carrier or stroller. I showed the "floor manager" this page and he said he didn't care what the words said. Rude and discriminatory. I saw a woman carrying around a chihuahua. Why didn't she get told anything? Ours were on leashes.
