Cool Dog-Friendly Motel

The Astro

This cool/funky little mid-century modern motel is dog-friendly, with a beautiful city park right across the street. The motel is tiny and quiet, intimate - only 18 +/- rooms. The person at the front desk was friendly and accommodating. The room was great, very clean and well appointed with mid-century modern furniture, and artwork on the walls. The original parking lot, with parking right in front of the rooms has been transformed into a wonderful courtyard/sculpture garden. They had a delicious yogurt and granola breakfast, with locally produced/made organic, non-GMO yogurt and granola. My husband is usually not a "continental breakfast" kind of guy, but he was raving about this! Also, there's a great taqueria right around the corner. Next time we go through Santa Rosa, CA, we know where we will be staying!

Nice little motel

Hotel McCoy - Art Coffee Beer Wine

Fun small motel, good beds, murals and other artwork. Accepts multiple dogs. Free drinks at bar, free oatmeal bar in the mornings. Wish there was a bit more landscaping/green space for the dogs.

Doesn’t have good pet relief area

La Quinta by Wyndham LAX

La Quinta LAX is surrounded by pavement/sidewalks with no grassy or shaded areas for pet relief. And people let their dogs poop in the middle of the sidewalk and don’t pick it up. Yuk. Apparently the hotel and Starbucks clean it up overnight. The best place to walk your dog is early in the morning on the sidewalk next to landscaping in front of Starbucks.
