Better for dogs than humans
Hilton Kansas City AirportOverall it was fine and met our needs on a road trip. The dogs were welcome, but we did have to walk them through the main lobby to get to our first floor room. There's an emergency exit at the end of the corridor, which was convenient for taking them out to the grass which there's a lot of, but there's no re-entry through that door so you have to come back in through the lobby. I won't stay there again, but that's because of issues unrelated to the dogs. Staff was curt on the phone, and then rude and dismissive in-person. Key card stopped working at one point, which locked us out and the dogs in. Meals and drinks were quite expensive. The room was small but comfortable and clean. The bathroom lacked any counter space which was odd, and the shower head sprayed horizontally at about neck-height. Overall not a pleasant stay, but sufficient.
Beautiful grass park
Quail Ridge Dog ParkAbsolutely worth the winding roads leading back to this beautiful grass dog park with shade and water (and even restrooms for the humans).
Ideal stay with dogs on a road trip
Candlewood Suites Washington North an IHG HotelWe've stayed here a couple times now on our road trips. Both times were great, and everything I'd hope for when traveling with a couple 50+lbs dogs. Rooms were clean and comfortable and well stocked. There's a convenient entrance/exit near our room which made it easy getting the dogs and luggage in from the car. Plenty of grass around the property. Overall just great.
Clean, modern, comfortable
Residence Inn by Marriott TopekaLots of grass nearby for the dogs, though not intended for off leash. Check-in was quick and the staff was exceptionally welcoming. Breakfast included many options. Room was great.
Fenced off-leash area
Candlewood Suites Indianapolis Downtown Medical District an IHG HotelEnjoyed our stay. Check-in was quick and friendly. They offered to move us to a lower room for easier in and out. Elevators are small and lobby is too, so we opted to use the stairs most of the time to avoid anything unexpected with our two 50-75 lb dogs. The fenced-in off-leash area was great after a long car ride, though the rain the next day made it a muddy mess so we just used the large grass lot instead. Not confident about the location overall
Clearly the LaVale community love their dogs!
Frostburg Dog ParkThis great little dog park is planted right in the middle of the community. It was a rainy day and there weren't ANY other dogs there, so my two had the run of the place. There were separate areas for senior dogs and small dogs, and it was stocked with poop bags (though there was also a lot of poop on ground through out the park). There's nothing elaborate about the park—it's more or less just a large fenced in area—but my dogs had a great time all the same. We'll be back.
