Wyndham Garden Cross Lanes Charleston

I have the worst experience of any hotel here. First they wouldn’t let us into the room 30 min early because it was being cleaned. On their website they said that 24 hours were given between room stays. Not sure why they wouldn’t let us in, except the front desk guy had some power trip telling people no. Apparently they told everyone that because at 3 there were 6 people trying to check in with only one front desk person. The room we were given smelled so much like dog urine that I almost threw up. We got another room, but the hot water didn’t work. The bathroom had mold on the curtains and tub. The sheets had stains on them. The cups provided in plastic wrappers were open. When I went to ask for more they said they didn’t have any (what?). I called to explain the hot water wasn’t working, they fixed it that night, but again the next morning it was cold again. They could fix it, but it would take too long. The staff (with the exception of one person) were extremely rude. If I could give negative bone rating, I would give it -5. If this is the way they treat dog owners, I don’t think I will use this app to book more rooms. It just seems like the app doesn’t screen hotels that offer pet stays.

Great state park

Carter Caves State Resort Park

If you are looking for a place with character and charm, stay here. It isn’t the Ritz, but the staff is very nice, food is good, rooms are mostly clean, and has lots of charm. Set in a beautiful park with lots of outdoor activities.
