Horrible experience

Forsyth Park Inn

I cannot explain how disappointed I am in the Forsyth Park Inn. I booked a pet-friendly room six months ago for Thanksgiving with my mom, who is flying in for the holiday from across the country. Nobody ever notified me that the pet policy had been revoked, and I luckily happened upon this change by RANDOM when I was perusing their website in excitement of our stay. Despite the pet policy being still in effect when I booked (despite the owners telling me otherwise, which was a lie, I would have never booked this reservation if it was stated non pet friendly), and already leaving a deposit, the owners of this inn were unwilling to accommodate my mom or I on our stay, and now we are without a place to stay on Thanksgiving, which is only a few weeks away.

I am curious to think what would have happened if I had shown up with my mom and dog on the day of and being turned away. I completely understand those hotels and inns who have a no pet policy, in addition to those who change that policy after bad experiences, but I was shocked that the owners were unwilling to honor the status of their website (which listed pets as welcome), at the time I booked. We also offered to pay an additional fee, sign a waiver, or whatever they deemed necessary. It is clear that the owners of this establishment do not put their customers first, and I am outraged at how this was handled. The owners also refused to speak to us directly. Our holiday plans are now ruined, and I would think twice before booking at this place in the future.
