Econo Lodge

Let me first say that the room was fine. No major problems, though blankets had holes in them, remote didn’t work and towels were stained. However, when we checked in, the Econo Lodge hotel clerk wanted $60 extra, not the $50 listed on Fido. I didn’t argue and paid it. He also insisted on a $100 cash deposit instead of the common $100 hold on a credit card. I said no, repeatedly, only a credit card hold. The next morning, the clerk insisted the room be inspected prior to our leaving. The inspector, a non-English speaking man pointed to dog hairs on the bed covers. The clerk said we owed $80 cash to have them dry-cleaned. The dogs did sleep on the bed. There was no sign in the lobby or room saying this was prohibited. I figured the $60 fee was for any extra cleaning needed. At any rate, I civilly told the clerk that if my card was charged beyond the $60, I would contest it. This still has yet to be resolved.
