My husband and I have a cat and dog. Our dog Buddy is so awesome! We rescued him from a shelter. He's shy but does amazingly well camping. We love to take him with us.

Great Place to Camp with Fido!
Charles Mears State ParkMears State Park has a great area for dogs to run along the shore of Lake Michigan. They play and frolic in and out of the water! When in the campground the pets must stay on a leash, but that's good. There can be a lot of cars and they can get run over. There are also lots of children that may not understand not to run up to a dog. Our guy, Buddy, loves Mears. He's shy and has a great time running on the beach just on the fringe of the other dogs. He loves to walk out on the pier.
