Great fun in beautiful Michaux State Forest
Trek & TrotHiked with Sandie and our dogs off leash on well defined trails in Michaux State Forest. It was a two hour romp and sniffathon for the dogs and an enjoyable hike for the humans heading down from the top of the ridge and circling back up to the start point. If your dog is not solid on recall, these trails are still very accessible while keeping your pet on its leash. Lots of breaks for water and scenery. We hiked in the morning, around 8:00 am, and did not encounter anyone else in the woods. Highly recommend!
Met expectations
Quality Inn Troutville - Roanoke NorthRoom was clean and quiet. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Courtesy breakfast was fresh and delicious. Property condition is good, what one should expect at this price. No separate dog walking area; we had to hunt a bit for an appropriate place to let the dog poop. No courtesy bags provided. This property overlooks the freeway exit, but our room was located on the side facing away from the highway and was quiet.
Cracker Barrel restaurant is within walking distance.
Just what we needed
Best Western Royal InnExcellent value. Clean quiet room with tile floor. Very pet practical. Bed was comfortable and shower provided plenty of hot water. Property is located at the base of Lookout Mtn, very close to popular Chattanooga attractions and a short drive from downtown. Complimentary breakfast included scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, yogurt, and pastry. We would stay again.
