Basic but clean and welcoming
Rodeway InnI was pleasantly surprised at this "one star" hotel. The clean room seems to have been recently remodeled. No coffee in the room, but did have a fridge and microwave. Staff was very genial. Adjacent field good for exercising dogs. Reasonable pet fee and takes large dogs. I would definitely stay there again.
Truly dog friendly
Quality Inn Weeki WacheeUnlike some other "dog friendly" hotels that don't allow large dogs and/or charge huge pet fees, this one is reasonable. It's not the Ritz, but rooms are clean and functional, pet fee is reasonable, and my large dog was no problem. Also good to have a large area for dogs to potty. I would have no qualms about staying there again.
Sketchy
Econo LodgeStaff was nice enough, and the room was clean, but the hotel needs major renovations and I certainly would not have stayed there unless I'd had my large and intimidating German Shepherd with me. There were very few guests, although none of them that I saw appeared dangerous. The front desk was unmanned at least 3 times for 5+ minutes during my one evening there, with no apparent way to summon anyone. Next time I will spend more and stay elsewhere.
