Do not stay here
Grand HotelI will have trouble remembering everything wrong here but will do our best. This is a very outdated facility that saw its glory days obviously years ago. It took over 30 minutes to check in because we were told that BringFido did not supply to the hotel the amount the hotel should charge BringFido. They assigned us a room completely at the opposite end of the facility. We couldn't park or enter reliably from the door down there because the door entry locks were undetectable.
Obviously, this issue had been going on for some time because we found rocks in the doorway to allow easy access to everyone, not just the hotel residents. My husband is 82 and late stage cancer so pushing the luggage cart down the lengthy hallways was unacceptable. Our meal and service in the attached restaurant was mediocre at best. The shower curtain had holes in it, the towels had stains. The entire facility had a run down aura and attitude from the employees. I would never stay here again and certainly don't recommend to others. No dog treats, no dog bags, no dog play area.
Run down facility
The Upper Pass Lodge at Magic MountainThe staff we interacted with were very nice. The lodge itself was quite run down. The room was stale and extremely hot, no one had turn the A/C on even though temps were in the 90's. Room was OK and clean. There is an inside bar and restaurant. We ate in the bar because we were invited to have our dog with us in there; they couldn't have been kinder about that. The food was excellent!!! There was plenty of areas to walk and play with our girl but never saw a doggy station etc. I would not stay here again, but would eat there again.
Expensive but mostly nice
Delta Hotels by Marriott Sault Ste Marie WaterfrontClearly you are paying for the view and location at this hotel. The dog fee was $40! They also charged a incidental deposit of $50. Breakfast not included. Poo bags were easily accessible as were trash receptacles. No specified outdoor area for dogs but the boardwalk is very nice if you have a dog that can stay away from the huge quantity of goose poo everywhere. Good amount of parking and a Starbucks attached to the hotel. Room was average quality with a few needed repairs.
Great play area
Comfort Inn PembrokeMotel was conveniently located and room was just fine. Staff was pleasant, but couldn't resolve some questions we had. Also they said we owed a $10 room upgrade fee and they also charged me a $50 deposit which they said would be credited back. I never saw any poo bags but out back there was a lovely large grass area that was perfect for playing ball. We were there in July - very buggy in the evening. There is a restaurant right next door that we do not recommend. I ordered a Greek salad as a take away and it was just a plain bagged green salad with some Greek olives - no feta, no cukes etc. My husband's meal was no better. Also, we checked out Sat morning but the restaurant I mentioned was setting up for a big outdoor music event they were having that night. No way would you be able to sleep through that.
Nice stay
Cresthill Suites SyracuseNice grassy area for dogs, lots of doggie bags. Staff and guests very friendly. One of our more enjoyable breakfasts. Facility was a little dated but we were very comfortable and found price to be very reasonable.
Good stay
Days Inn by Wyndham MarquetteAll of us were welcomed and treated well here. The doggie business area was very nice, well lit and supplied worth poo bags. Worker went out in the morning and scooped poop and trash that inconsiderate people left. I don't get it people, if you want the freedom to bring your dog along, please be considerate and play by the rules! They supply the bags and receptacles, couldn't be easier. If you can't be responsible and play by the rules, we will all lose the privilege to travel with our dogs. BTW, this place had a BringFido sticker on the entrance door ❤
Alright
La Quinta by Wyndham GlendiveHotel nice, still completing construction. Not a great pet area for outside duty, but doable and there were poo bags and a receptacle.
Disappointing
Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Duluth by the MallThey may allow dogs but I wouldn't call them dog friendly. The only place to walk your dog for duty in any kind of light after dark was off the edge of the paved parking lot, and the area was weedy and filthy with litter.
Great stay
La Quinta Inn by Wyndham MissoulaWe loved the flowing creek behind hotel. Very decent doggie potty area that was kept very clean. Nearby restaurants and gas stations. We would definitely stay again
Ok stay
LOGE Leavenworth DowntownFacility was nice and clean. There were bowls of water out for the dogs in several places. Staff was courteous but there is no front desk at all; couldn't find a phone number to call when we needed something. There is an elevator but no luggage carts although we were pleasantly offered a staff laundry cart to use. A big positive is that the hotel is located right by a lovely walking park on the river. There were other guests with dogs that were well behaved and well received by all.
