Weird hidden fee
La Quinta by Wyndham Rapid CityAfter we had already paid for our room, including the taxes and fees beyond the initial list price, we were told at the counter that there is yet another fee of about $10 because this place is "a resort" and has a "special resort tax." At what point did it become normal to, like, not just pay your business taxes and then sell your service, but instead to "pass on" these weird taxes? And to not even list them? Of course, by the time we had already paid for the room, taxes, and fees, and driven to the location, we were obligated to just pay whatever extra fees they wanted to "pass on" beyond the agreed upon price.

Fine spot
Motel 6 Missoula MTThe two pillows in our room were so lumpy and thick. I didn't think to ask for better pillows, and woke up with a super sore neck. It seems like the hotel should invest in just some basic $20 Target pillows or something! These were outlandishly lumpy and weirdly shaped.
