Will spend more elsewhere next time

Will spend more elsewhere next time. Some reviewer had given it 4 bones. A couple hairs in the tub. No hairdryer! No poop bags in dispensers. One bright spot was no pet fee. I would only consider staying here if your budget is very tight!! Oh, and ice machine in our building was out of order 👎

Great stay for the price

We booked this property because of the price and great reviews. It didn’t disappoint. The hotel is an older building but the room was clean and updated. There is a huge grassy field on the side where we were able to run our pups. Another review had mentioned an attached restaurant but had shut down. Breakfast was good, eggs, yogurt, waffles, etc. One request: hotels, please stop charging per/pet fees. You don’t charge per human child!! And our dogs don’t eat the breakfast, jump on the beds, shower, etc.

Clean, comfortable, reasonable!

Just spent one night. Hotel is a little older. Each room has a sliding door with outdoor patio. We stayed in an interior room with a grassy walkway between buildings. Very quiet! But it was very clean with a reasonable price and pet fee! Breakfast was good-scrambled eggs, sausage, grits, pancakes, yogurt, cereal, etc. Will definitely stay again when we come through Raleigh next year.

Good stay

Great location. Close to highway and Applebee’s next door. Nice, large room. Reasonable dog fee includes 2 dogs. Sloped grassy area for pups. Good breakfast. TVs in room need to be upgraded to this century.

Just say no

We just needed a hotel for one night on our cross country trip. This was the first night of our trip, and we didn’t want to spend a lot on our quick stop in Salina, KS. We were tired and just wanted a good shower. The positives: The owner was very nice, and only charged us for one of our 2 dogs, $10. And there was a large grassy area to let the pups run. But the hotel itself, we were hit with the smell of cannabis when we opened the door to our room.

The whole place is very run down. The door to the connecting room had holes where a handle should be and a padlock on it. There were holes in the wall. Old, nasty loveseat. Cheese on the floor behind the trash can. Hair in the sink. And the tub had one of those mats on the bottom and there was part of a wrapper from a bar of soap in there, like it hadn’t been cleaned at all from the last guest. I would NOT have wanted to see what was under that mat!! Even if we had wanted to take a shower, we had one hand towel and zero bath towels. There was an ice bucket in the room but the ice maker didn’t work.

Best hotel on our road trip

Joplin, MO was an unplanned stop on our trip home to Colorado. Fantastic location off highway and surrounded by restaurants. NO additional pet fee and reasonable nightly rates. The hotel had a beautiful courtyard with well manicured grass and poop bag stations, a pool with lounging areas outside of it with fire pits, gas grills, and lovely landscaping. The rooms and all facilities appeared to be newly updated. The hotel was also connected to Old Chicago restaurant where I had a delicious calzone and my husband had lasagna for dinner. And the included breakfast was the best we’d had, with 2 types of eggs, 2 types of sausage (though bacon would have been my preference), refried beans, freshly made pico de gallo and fresh cut fruit! Directly next door was a Starbucks to get our beverages before heading out for a road trip home. As we travel back east next fall. we will be sure to come back through Joplin and stay at this hotel!!

Second time was great

First time was AWFUL! We were on the 3rd floor with an entire sorority!!! Slamming doors, loud music, running up and down the hallway, yelling, etc. Understand that wasn’t the first time they allowed them to stay at the hotel! They charged them an additional $500 but where was our refund for having to deal with them?! Second time was great. Like that they charge one reasonable fee for our 2 Golden Retrievers. Great location. Would really prefer queen beds vs. doubles.

Not the cleanest

Room smelled and was dated. We went and bought Febreze pet odor spray to help. Saw what I think was a couple pubic hairs behind bathroom door. Good grassy area behind the hotel for dog owners. They did have HBO channels which was nice. Didn’t shower or use the pool. Breakfast was basic but fine. This hotel wasn’t up to par of other hotels we’d stayed at in Southport, Myrtle Beach, Charleston, and Savannah earlier in the week. For what we paid (including an additional charge for pets) we didn’t feel it was worth it. But hotels nearby that accept large dogs was extremely limited and 2-3 times the price.
