Anyone with a service dog BEWARE!!

Eddie's on Lake Norman

I truly can't believe that I'm having to write a bad review for this place after the many times we've visited. Went in last night with a party of 11 and my medical alert dog. It was extremely crowded at the entrance being that it was around 5:15 and a Friday night so I placed my small dog in the stroller until we were able to get beyond the congestion to avoid him possibly getting overlooked and stepped on or kicked accidentally. We placed our name on the waitlist and proceeded to the bar where a hostess came over and said "no dogs", I informed her that he's a service dog so she walked off and then came back insisting that he must have his feet on the ground and not allowed in the stroller. I told her that per the ADA this was not accurate, within 2 minutes a manager walked over demanding his feet must be on the ground to which I kindly informed her that this does not follow the ADA guidelines. I obliged to keep the peace but also reminded her of the actual ADA guidelines which she clearly didn't know much about bc she still continued. This was 3 times within about 5 minutes which was embarrassing and very out of line. I wanted to leave but we were there celebrating my mothers birthday so I didn’t want to ruin it. We went outside, enjoyed our drinks, got called for our table, ordered our appetizers and meals and then my mother went in to use the restroom. She was so bothered by the discrimination that she tried talking with the manager again ab ADA to clear this up but once again she was flat out rude, laughed at her, and they exchanged cross words. A service dog can be in a carrier, stroller, on the ground etc. They waited until our appetizers were served before sending out some young girl and her "backup" to give us to go boxes and the bill demanding that we box our food and leave before the entrees were even served. I told them to cancel the entrees take them off of the bill and I'd leave. They refused and brought the entrees out for us to box up. We paid and took generous care of our server as always bc this wasn't his fault. He and several other staff members were very apologetic. We were informed that this was the managers topic of convo with the staff members while we were there which was disheartening to say the least. My husband went to get the car seeing as we had our 6 kids with us and a man walked over joining the young girl and her backup that were standing guard at our table, telling us to get out, I explained that I was simply waiting on him to pull up and was pushed even further by them when they said if we didn't get up immediately they were calling the cops. I told them to go ahead and call them bc this was all out of hand. I asked them to call the owner bc clearly this was a miscommunication and to my surprise the owner showed up while the cops were there and refused to speak with me or even get out of her jeep but the manager had no problem coming outside and getting in my mothers face in front of the police in the parking lot. I'll be filing a complaint. The manager decided to ban us from the establishment. This is highly unfortunate bc our family has genuinely enjoyed this place for years.
