I have a German Sheppard / Greyhound mix that has a lot of energy. We run 5-7 miles per week. We also like dog parks and beaches.

Runners w/ Dogs were 2nd Class Participants
Doggies For DuchenneRunners with Dogs were schedule 15 minutes later than primary race. There was NO Water for humans or dogs at finish line. In fact, I had to walk all the way to furthest booth to get a bottle of water. All vendors and free food were gone by the time we finished (I finished race in less than 30 minutes). A couple of the sponsors with tents brought dog bowls for water but I was glad I brought my own (and used bottle water to fill it).
When I expressed concerns to Race Director Monica she was dismissive and rude. She raised her voice and took a nasty tone despite me approaching her politely. She said this was more about raising money and awareness for Duchenne and basically said she did not care about dogs. I have nothing against support for the fight against Duchenne but this race was also billed with the Humane Society of Lakewood Ranch and is advertised as a dog-friendly 5k.
I will not participate in this event again. I would not recommend this race to anyone who plans to run with their dog.
