Old hotel

This is an old hotel, but it gets an 'A' for effort and it has a lot of amenities. Unfortunately, even though we had a non-smoking room, we were placed on a smoking floor and the smoke was terrible/like a nightmare. Staff are great and friendly. The coffee is free and very good and available 24 hours. Our room was huge and had hard floors (no carpet, yay!). However this is a budget hotel, meaning everything looks a bit like Ikea. Avoid the second floor (smoking floor, yuck); make sure you get on the first floor with the door directly to the outside.

Best hotel we stayed in

This was (surprisingly) the most comfortable and convenient hotel that we stayed in, during our drive across Canada. We actually wanted to stay an extra day just to rest and relax. We were placed on the first floor (yay!). Everything was easy and smooth. Plenty of green lawns in the neighborhood to walk the dogs on. The air conditioning worked great and without issue. Everything seemed new-ish and purpose-built for comfort and convenience. This is an entirely non-smoking hotel (thank goodness). The free breakfast was great - try the cinnamon waffles. The staff were friendly towards the dogs.

Excellent hotel

The pet rooms are the ones that say "drive-up." I saw several cats and dogs staying in the rooms with the sliding glass doors onto the parking lot. This is a fine and modern hotel. Hard floors (no carpet) are fabulous. Very chic and comfortable too.

Nice people

This is an old motel. However the owners and staff are super kind and helpful, and the motel setup is super convenient. This is a very dog-friendly motel.

Very special hotel

This is a very beautiful and luxurious hotel. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful with the dogs and with the parking. The Forks area in Winnipeg is amazing - a beautiful park with plenty of green areas and trees and winding walkways, and things to see. The Forks parkade entrance was difficult to find, and it was locked when I arrived. Thankfully the front desk person walked around to the back of the hotel and found a spot for me, and she held it (and my dogs) until I drove my car around and parked there (so thankful!!). The parking spot was narrow but right behind the hotel, and it worked out OK. I'd suggest to arrive early and be patient finding parking.

I would also suggest to call ahead and request to be placed on the 1st floor. We were on the 3rd floor and my dogs didn’t like the elevator. The room and the bathroom were beautiful. For food, I used the “Skip the Dishes” app. Walking around the Forks area and down by the river with my dogs was memorable; the people were so relaxed and happy and friendly. I would highly recommend visiting the Forks (with dogs). Would I stay at this hotel again? Yes absolutely. What a special place!!
