Area outside for dog

The Omelette Shop

The food is delicious for us humans. There is a small area on the sidewalk to sit, and our dogs are welcome. I brought my own water dish, but they have dishes they provide. I recommend this place.

Dog recommended

Quality Inn

Original room was not finished when we got to it (meaning, housekeeping just left and it was not complete), so they moved us to another room. I paid extra for first floor access. Door opens to parking lot (convenient) and also another door to hallway. Second room looks like it had not been employed in a while, but did have clean sheets and some towels. Getting more towels was not possible. There is nowhere to hang them either, so they stayed wet. Towels were very thin and see through. We met a family who was on their third room because of cleanliness or repair issues.

For a 4 night stay, no room service was offered. Bathroom was surface cleaned, but needs a deep cleaning. Sheets appeared to be clean. In room coffee maker had previous occupants’ stuff. Room was dusty, but I think that was due to not being used in a while. Breakfast was ok. They have hot choices: The famous waffles, scrambled eggs, and sausage links. They also had fruit, yogurt, and bread/bagel choices. It was not the tastiest, but they provided a nice assortment of food for the traveler. The crew was nice and attentive when items were out. Front desk folks were nice for check-in and checkout.

The motel is a long building. For dogs, you want to be near the end because there is a walking trail and even a wooded area where you can explore. And you can play ball in the large parking lot because it is not busy. AC in room worked! It is a window unit with a remote control.

Looking on google maps, Quality Inn is right across the street from the Lake! I learned that the lake front/beaches are not public. From Quality Inn it is a long walk to the public beach area that is across from the public camping area. The campground is next door to Quality Inn, but it is so large, it is a bit of a walk. There is a pedestrian overpass. Or, you can risk your life and just cross the street – there is a middle turn lane that you can wait to cross – but it is not safe. The parasail and wave runner rentals are across the street and if you rent from them, you can stay all day on their beach. But unlike what google maps makes it appear, you cannot just go across the street for beach time. (Do internet search for dog friendly beaches, there are a lot, but must drive to them). It is not the nicest hotel for humans, but it was perfect for the pooch.
