Great place near Lexington!

I had a really good experience with this hotel. It's a good distance of about 5 miles off the I-75 expressway, so I couldn't hear a bit of that, and near a commercial corridor (Man O War Blvd) with numerous places to eat, entertainment, gas stations and car washes, all of that stuff. The hotel was quiet (aside from temporary daytime renovations to the lobby) and my dog and I slept really well. The room was clean, well preserved, and I easily got a parking spot only a few feet from the front door. There was also a small grassy area out back on the property, and connecting sidewalks for dog walks. I'd definitely recommend this place, and the price was very reasonable.

Not great for dogs

For the nightly price + the $75 pet fee + being so close to the expressway traffic with little regard for insulating the building better, I wasn’t satisfied. I paid some sort of additional $100 security deposit for the room, for the single night, and walked in to find torn sheer curtains, a couple carpet stains in the kitchenette and another stain on the floor of the bathroom, so I immediately called to let them know that my dog didn’t do it.

I could easily hear the traffic and haulers on the expressway as I laid in bed, it seemed like cardboard-thin walls, and any conversation outside the door. Didn’t work out too well for my dog either; he was in an unfamiliar place with a lot of random noises going on outside the door, and folks using the stairwell above the door to get to their apartments.

Not especially welcoming upon checking in, just comments about ‘how big he is.” A 75lb golden retriever who was definitely on the side of being wound up after 7 hours of driving that day, and nothing especially dog-friendly was introduced (no treats, no bowl or pad or bed, nothing) thankfully I had everything anyway. Not recommended.
