Disgusted and disappointed

I had given a rating of one dog bone before because I didn't know how to give it a "0" or minus. I had reserved 2 rooms (one for myself, husband and dog, the other for daughter and 2 grandchildren). The rooms weren't ready which was okay, but then when we did get into the non smoking rooms we were appalled. Strong odor of chemicals trying to conceal cigarette smoke, the rooms were not clean, the side of one mattress that was exposed was covered in blood, the linen was questionable, there were people living in the parking lot, there was a sign that addressed human trafficking,. There was no way we could stay. We went to the front desk. We gave back the keys, told them we were leaving. I contacted the motel and was told that they would not refund any money. Lesson learned.
