Clean, Quiet. Convenient

Candlewood Suites Amarillo-Western Crossing an IHG Hotel

The Candlewood Suites is located near a shopping/restaurant area and several other hotels. The hotel is a less than 5 minute walk to a Petco. We had a room on the top floor and it was the most quiet hotel stay of our road trip. They have oatmeal, coffee, tea and a few pieces of fruit available in the lobby. There is a kitchen with plates

Inexpensive, Quick Stop In San Antonio

La Quinta by Wyndham San Antonio by AT&T Center

We chose this stop for its proximity to a stop we were making in San Antonio. We always appreciate that La Quinta doesn’t have restriction on dog size and don’t charge a pet fee. We were placed on the first floor. It was an open easy space to leave and enter with our dog. Front office staff were very kind and professional. It was my ~50 lb dog’s first time in a hotel so we were worried about how he would behave. He had a great first experience. We heard a small dog yapping in a room for about 5 minutes but it settled down. There are not great restaurants near by- all fast food. The interstate is close, which is convenient. The breakfast was plentiful and simple.

Great Location, Easy For Dog Owners

Hotel Indigo San Antonio Riverwalk an IHG Hotel

We were given a time on the first floor near one of the back entrances. Besides the wood floors, which another reviewer mentioned, the rooms are also very large. There was plenty of room for our dog’s travel kennel and for him to roam and settle down. We were close to an exterior door that allowed exit but not entry. You can re-enter through the lobby and the back entrance. It’s a quiet spot for walking your dog at all hours, and also well lit. The hotel is close to two entrances to the Riverwalk. The fee was $25 for our dog to stay. The hallway was loud at night (mostly after midnight) so if you have a dog that reacts to hallway noises it could be challenging. Our dog was relaxed so we didn’t have any issues. The staff were kind and accepting of our ~50 lb dog, and even gave us treats when we checked in.
