Warning! Prolonged use of this park may lead to withdrawal symptoms.

The Outback at Shelby Farms Park

2 dogs, 5 years in Memphis. I lived 10 mins away from home his park and we went AT LEAST 3 times each week. If not more. Regardless of the weather.

This park allows you to actually drive in and park. (Both entrances) That way you don't have to worry about the leashes period.

Never in my life did I imagine such a huge place meant for dogs exists.

I usually ran the perimeter which was easily 5k.

There is a pond near the 1st entrance that seems to be a hot bed of dog related shenanigans. Some days, it will be quite a circus.

Don't be intimidated. There are times when you could have the whole place to yourself.

If not, don't be afraid to try another trail.

Tip: the "no off leash dogs beyond this point" signs are more of a suggestion. Be aware those trails are us f by bikers and horses on occasion. Also, there are a lot and they are extensive. Don't get yourself lost.

Since we've moved back to Nashville, I have 6 dog parks within 30 mins. Not one is even a half acre. All are filled with superfluous things like "obstacles" or hoops and see-saws, which are essentially expensive piss-poles.

Sigh. All we need is a few acres and a fence. Now my pooches lay around all day twitching. :(
