Great for big dogs

Residence Inn by Marriott Downtown Long Beach

Nice area on the water to walk the dog as well as a private fenced-in back area. They had poop bag stations with trash cans in the front and the back. Our room had a mini kitchen with dishes and utensils which was great. Staff were all friendly and helpful. The reasons for only 3 bones are that there was no restaurant in the hotel (but had small breakfast buffet) and not walking distance to anything; the location is difficult to get in and out of because of the one way streets and freeway on ramps, and all of the extra charges cost as much as the room.

It was $150 for the dog, $35 per day for parking, $20 for the "complimentary" breakfast which they called a restaurant fee, and a $5 charge just to use their "market" which was basically just a frig and snack stand that you grab items and pay at reception desk so a can of coke cost like $10. Not to mention city tax and tourism tax. We are locals so it worked for our purpose where we needed to be out of the house but if I was looking to vacation here, I would choose a place closer to restaurants. The view was nice but I booked the Queen Mary side and they stuck us in a room on the opposite side. I didn't complain because they let us check in a few hours early which was nice.
