Nice dog park. Beware of the Tall old man

Very nice off leash dog park. Unfortunately there are some very poor dog owners there sometimes. I was verbally attacked by a very tall older man who had completely lost control of his very large white dog. I was letting my dog into the park and his large white dog who he obviously had no control over ran within 10 yards of the gate. I closed the gate to keep the dog from running out and everything seemed fine until this man came up yelling and screaming at me because he thought his dog might escape. I remained calm because I have been trained in dealing with people that suffer from mental health issues and I was able to diffuse the situation.

The guy is a regular at the dog park and is always there doing some kind of work clearing brush and cutting tree limbs. I have never seen him like he was at that moment but he was scary angry and animated. My advice would be for anyone who encounters him to stay clear. He has tried to summon my dog over to him on previous occasions but my dog who is very social always avoided him. Dogs are a good judge of character. Maybe his dog was trying to escape him. Avoid him.
