Lovely boutique hotel

Boarding House Cape May

Boarding House is a fabulous place to stay whether you have dogs with you or not. We had our boy with us and there’s a dog park right across the street and plenty of walking areas. The room was beautifully appointed, bright, and modern with a touch of whimsy provided by surfboard and other local art. Amenities galore: pour over coffee, electric kettle, blow dryer, what I think was a clothing steamer, locally made soap, seating area outside the room and on the rooftop deck.

The rooftop is a beautiful place to hang out but, unfortunately, isn’t dog friendly. I get it because some guests might want a place to relax without pets. You can leave your dog in the room if you leave a tag on the door. We don’t because our guy, though tiny, is a loud barker and anxious if we leave him alone in unfamiliar places.

My only very minor suggestion would be the addition of makeup mirrors. I was happy to forgo the makeup though. There’s a happy hour and you can get local wine or beer and take it to the roof to relax after a full day in Cape May. All in all, we had a lovely stay and by all means check out the whale and dolphin watching which is also dog friendly. We saw so many dolphins and two whales!

Best day ever!

Cape May Whale Watcher

We had such a great experience on our trip. We had booked an earlier two hour trip which was
canceled but they offered to upgrade use to the later three
hour trip and we happily accepted and are so glad we did!

We ended up seeing countless
dolphins and two humpback whales. so majestic and amazing. Very knowledgeable and informative naturalist onboard who gave us so many facts about these marvelous creatures. Captain Matt loved our dog was constantly trying to get into the wheelhouse.
