Plenty of grassy areas

La Quinta by Wyndham Memphis Wolfchase

We stayed at this property twice as part of a road trip that took us through the area. It is a good location, right off the highway but the area felt very safe. Very friendly staff and we saw a few other fur babies when we were there. Plenty of grass around the hotel, straight out from the front doors and also along each side of the building. Several restaurants are within walking distance too. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Inconvenient with dogs

Residence Inn by Marriott Louisville Downtown

We wanted to be downtown for a family wedding and my research led me to this hotel. I knew patches of grass were limited but after a few days of transporting dogs up and down the elevator and across the street, I wished I had done more research or stay in another area/vacation rental property. There is a small area of grass right across the street by an abandoned bank, but it gets quite stinky from all the neighborhood dogs that utilize it. Across from the front doors, there's a high-rise with a park behind it. We live in a major metropolitan city and I guess our city has done a better job in providing dog-friendly areas in downtown. Louisville not so much.

The hotel has a two-level parking garage and it would be awesome if the hotel dedicated a small corner of the 2nd floor level for dogs. Perhaps Astro turf or even just mulch. There were homeless people in the area, who seem to migrate to and from a couple of highway overpass bridges close-by. We did have one issue where a transient women was following us one evening as we took the dogs out. Her pace hastened and she tried to follow us into the lobby. You have to use your key card to enter the inner lobby doors, and the front desk staff mentioned they had already asked her to leave once before. Bottom line, I would probably stay at this property again if I *wasn't* traveling with dogs.

Great location

Staybridge Suites University Area an IHG Hotel

We stayed here for a week and it was a perfect set up for our two "old lady" dogs. I called the day before and asked for a 1st floor room near an outside door if possible. They were able to accommodate us and it was a breeze for quick potty breaks. Plenty of grassy areas for the dogs to check out.
