Great stories for life

I have to leave a glowing recommendation for this lodge. This was just one of six places that my wife and I stayed at, on a ten day drive up the coast. But this place will be somewhere I will talk about for the rest of my life. Not, mind you, for the beautiful views, which it has an abundance of. Or for the great location, from which we were able to walk to multiple great food and wine spots. Not even for the warm, clean, and inviting rooms, which they were.

But the greatest feature that this lodge has is the people who work there to make each guests stay special. My wife and I were celebrating our twenty year wedding anniversary by driving up the coast together. It was an amazing trip until we checked into one of our other locations and we noticed that my wife's wedding ring was missing the center stone. We were crushed. There is simply nothing we could do. It's worse than a needle in a haystack. After the trip was over, she emailed the locations we had stayed at, as a last ditch effort to find some hope.

Three months went by and we had come to peace with the fact that we got twenty great years out of the gem, and we had started to look into replacing it. My wife got an email, out of the blue, from the great people at the Cambria Beach Lodge. They too, had been touched by the sad situation we had fallen into, and had been keeping an eye out on the cleaning equipment that they use to clean the rooms. To our amazement, they found the stone and sent it back to us.

I can't tell you how special that is. It would have been so easy for them to just keep it, or disregard our misfortune. It warms my heart to know that there is still amazing people in the world that will go out of their way for complete strangers. I now have a great story to tell our family for generations, and I will always do my best to tell the story of the wonderful staff that cares at the Cambria Beach Lodge.
