Nice Spot
Red Roof Inn Battle CreekGood location. Clean room. Pets aren't allowed in outdoor "courtyard" area but other green spots around. Culver's in same parking lot and a donut place. Shower tub was stained, but seemed clean. Nice place for one night.

Meh, mostly clean
Red Roof Inn Indianapolis CastletonUpon entering room, strong pot smell (we reported it and got deposit back next morning upon checkout). First floor room and could hear noise (footsteps) above. Did have fridge and microwave (which was nice). Cleaning crew knocked on door at 10am (we weren't gone yet!). Not the best, but certainly not the worst of this price class!

Weird
Motel 6 Overland Park KSNo lobby (just person behind plastic partition). Like renting hotel room in NYC bodega. Threatening signs warning about charges, improper use, etc. Odd way to treat guest as potential thieves and vandals from the get-go. Rust in shower. Peeling paint on door. Cigarette holes and burns on bedspread. Floor not swept. Threatened to prosecute if left dog in hotel room unattended.

Dated But Clean Room
Studio 6 Fishers IN - IndianapolisThe bad: carpet in hallways dated and peeled up. Hallways smelled of food and lack of airflow. Room smelled stale. Didn't realize window opened until morning or would have aired out room sooner. No shampoo in bathroom (seems Motel 6 usual to not have shampoo). The good. Clean non-stained tub! Room had kitchenette with full-sized small refrigerator, microwave, and stove top (seemed like expended stay place with many cooking meals and lack of ventilation problem). Dog waste barrel in back. Lots of green grass for doing business (ours will only go in grass!). Best of Michigan/Indiana dog friendly so far! Would have given 5 bones except for smell.
