Good Stopover on I-95

First impression/curb appeal was good upon entry. Lobby area quite impressive compared to equivalent hotels. As another reviewer indicated, the small grassy area for dogs was way in the back of the parking lot and shared with the hotel next door. If a guest has a pet and also any mobility issues or is elderly, this is not a good fit in terms of location. Ideally, a pet area would be a fenced area to promote/encourage pet owners in cleaning up after their dogs, the ability to let a dog free if there are no other dogs around, and demonstrate to other guests who don't have pets that there is a designated area to prevent them from accidentally stepping on dog poop that hasn't been cleaned up by pet owners. There was a doggie bag dispenser and it was stocked. A little scoop (like a plastic ice scoop) would be nice to have as well. Ultimately, I'd stay here again and appreciate La Quinta's being a pet-friendly hotel chain. The room not having carpet is an excellent idea too.
