Surprisingly good value
City Loft HotelTasteful little motel directly in the center of the best part of Beaufort, walking distance to pretty much everything. Comfortable rooms that have been updated. Bed linens are actually of a nice quality. I believe the dog-friendly rooms are on the first floor only so there are a limited number available. Good coffee shop on premises and a small gym.

Very pleasant dog park
Southside Dog Park2 Fully fenced areas: 1 for big / 1 for small. Small dog side is very large (a rarity). Areas to sit and there is both water and shade. Both sides have grass (another rarity for SC, GA and NC dog parks). We stop here whenever we're passing through Beaufort. Our Westies love it! People and dogs have been friendly every time. There always seem to be dogs at this park. We've driven to many a park to find them completely devoid of dogs. This one seems pretty popular with the locals. Parking is ample and right next to the dog park entrance. It's located within a big park (for humans) with paved trails which you can walk your dog on, as well. Lots of trees with Spanish moss.
