Edgewater Dog Park

Edgewater Park

My daughter and I were really excited about our first venture with her new dog. We picked Edgewater Beach. It was fun walking down the trail to the beach in anticipation of how our puppy would react to sand and seeing so many other dogs. We picked a spot to set up and immediately smelled dog doodoo. I had set my beach bag on the sand and located doodoo buried under the sand. Then when I took my next step I found another stash of doodoo and it got swashed into the sole of my sandals. We were ever hopeful that we could manage cleaning up the canvas bag and sandals with smashed in doodoo. For the next 2 hours we got whiffs of it. During that 2 hours we saw numerous human animals not cleaning up after their pets, doodoo floating freely at the water's edge where unsuspecting humans walking along or wading at the edge were unknowingly encountering floating or sunken treasures in the murky waters. I am not grossed out by much, but this was one of the most unhygienic environments for humans and animals I have been at. I am sure there are worse, but... The one bone rating is because I really wanted to enjoy the day and the location, and spending time with my daughter and her dog.
