We loved this preserve! Most dogs were off leash and were extremely well behaved (we kept ours on-leash since he is clumsy and we were nervous about the cliffs). There are so many nice open areas for them to run, bags at both entrances and a water station in the middle of the park. The fog kept it nice and cool in the summer but there were plenty of trees for when the sun came out.
We stopped here for brunch and had the best meal. The staff loved our dog (and the many others there). You can sit inside or outside with your pup and they have a “doggy tasting” station at the front with a variety of water bowls. Food and beverages were fantastic. We’ll be back!

Our pup loved 1000 Steps Beach. He isn’t ready for off leash activities yet so we went left after the 150-ish steps (which are usually wet and a little slippery so be prepared) with a long lead and he enjoyed himself very much. We went in the morning as the hide tide was starting to go out and there was not a ton of beach to work with so I recommend checking and going at low tide. We ended up walking from 1000 Steps to the stairs to Shoreline Steps for a nice loop. Met a few friendly dogs along the way but for the most part, it was pretty quiet. Would go again!

This was a great rest stop for the whole family. The back patio area was bigger than we expected and had both grass and shade that was much appreciated on a warm day. The person working
