Fun Outing
ZBonz Dog Park at North Z Boaz ParkWe had a good time here, our dogs love swimming, however they did get a little scraped up by the rocks in the water, I’d like if they came and put smooth rocks down cuz some must’ve been sharp underwater. We still had a good time!
Excellent Food!
Istanbul GrillProbably the best Mediterranean food in Arlington! It’s BYOB and the have a patio out front. One of our favorites!
Fun Local Bar
Caves LoungeThey have a few arcade games, darts, and a jukebox so bring your quarters! The back patio area is spacious. And they have plenty of fun events. Dogs are welcome inside the bar as well as on the patio. Some dogs may find it to be a bit overwhelming especially when it’s a busy Friday night or they have live music.
The Creek Is Our Favorite Part
Cedar Ridge Nature PreserveWe’ve always had a great time here! The creek is a great place to cool off. Good exercise for us and the dogs that’s for sure! They have multiple trails (some of which are currently closed due to mud) but they are doing updates and adding wood chips to help with the mud. As a heads up there are snakes present so be observant and stay alert.
Large Fields
Rush Creek Dog ParkThis park has 4 large fields, 2 for small dogs and 2 for large dogs, unfortunately one or all of the parks are frequently closed so I would definitely call the rainout line or follow the group on Facebook for updates on closures.
Cons: entrances have mud surrounding them
Sticker patches
Not well shaded until a bit before sunset when the sun goes behind the trees.
Pros: great field for runners or playing fetch
Tennis balls and other toys can be found if you don’t have your own
Overall pretty good park!
Our Favorite
Tails N' Trails Dog ParkThis park is great for dogs that love independence and exploring as well as dogs that just want to fetch, the field area is long enough for fetch and the wooded area is great to walk through and explore, both of our dogs love it here, it’s a bit hard to find your dogs sometimes if they like exploring separately back in the back but I don’t mind if they have some independence, but it’s definitely smart to try to keep an eye on them.
Great outing
Lazy Dog Restaurant & BarWe had dinner here with our 2 pups, we didn’t order from the doggie menu but our dogs thought their friend at the next table over had delicious food and were very jealous, they brought out complimentary water bowl, and the human food was good, not the best meal I’ve ever had but definitely some unique dishes that are worth a try!
