Great Find!
Wyndham VisaliaI love this hotel. Many dog friendly hotels are lacking in other ways, but not this place. This is a full service hotel similar to somewhere I would stay on a business trip. I did not eat in the dining room, but when I went to get coffee they made it clear my dog would be welcome. They gave me a Starbucks coffee to go at no charge! Beds were super comfortable and room was modern and updated. The manager was very friendly and interested in my dog. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
Nice Area Out Back
Best Western Miner's InnOld and somewhat run down hotel, but clean and comfortable. Nice dog walking area both front and back. Basic breakfast is included. A service station is across the street that welcomed my dog while we shopped for snacks.
Lots Of Dog Walking Area
Harris Ranch InnHarris Ranch is a working cattle ranch, and it smells like it. That being said, the grounds are beautiful with lots of dog walking areas. Dogs are not allowed in the dining room. Room service ends at 8 pm, which could be inconvenient if you are traveling with a dog and have a delayed arrival. The menu is very meat centric, as you might expect. There aren’t any other options nearby. Rooms are spacious but run down. I think the price point is a little high all things considered.
Dog Loved It
Callahan's Mountain LodgeCallahan’s is a unique property. Family owned and built in 1947! They could not have been nicer to my dog. He was even allowed to have dinner and breakfast with me in the dining room! The property is somewhat isolated on a freeway off ramp all on its own. The front desk does not appear to be staffed after hours. I was traveling alone so was not entirely comfortable with all that. The tv did not work and there was no one available to assist with it. The fridge and ac were quite loud. I thought the price point was a little steep all things considered.
Rude Staff!!!
Left Coast SiestaIf I could give Left Coast Siesta negative 5 stars I would. I am traveling alone with my dog and we had visited this restaurant before with no problems. Today was a different story. This place is set up so that you order just inside the door and then can step outside on the patio with a number for your food to be delivered. I started to place my order(at a counter about 5 feet from the door) when a waitress began to yell at me that my dog could not go even that far into the restaurant so that I could order. So I asked if someone could take my order on the patio and she said absolutely not in a very nasty tone of voice. I said well in that case you just lost my business. Honestly this was one of the strangest customer service experiences of my life. No reason to act so rude, or to refuse to accommodate the customer’s individual needs. Seriously, how much would it have cost you to walk 5 feet to the patio to take my order? Unbelievable.
Chill Place For Lunch/Dinner
San Dune PubThe back patio is a comfortable place to have a pint with your pup! Just walk through the bar and you’ll be directed out back. Good microbrews and Fish and Chips! Nice friendly staff who seem to enjoy the dogs being there.
