Nice rooms, decent dog outdoor area
Best Western Plus Truckee-Tahoe HotelThey enforce their "don't leave your dog in your room" policy which we were very happy about since a young couple left their barking dogs in their room. The staff was good, breakfast was great and there are plenty of small areas for dog potty breaks.

Wonderful, spacious dog-friendly room
Heavenly InnWalk down the road less than a block to an open (bowl) field or walk your pups on the grass between the street and sidewalk. Awesome staff!!

Check your room first ours was gross.
Motel 6 South Lake Tahoe CAThis was the dirtiest room I've seen. The floors, light switches and bathroom fan were all disgusting. These are all things very easy to fix but have been ignored for a long time. This was supposed to be a non-smoking room but stunk like cigarettes. I'm tired of the dog rooms being gross. What's dog "friendly" about that? Would give zero bones if I could.
