Rude Front Desk Lady

Bridgewater Bistro

When we arrived there were 2 women at the front desk. We asked about pet friendly seating & one of the women was really rude to me. The other one was super nice & took us outside & explained that it was really windy that evening. We agreed with her & she offered to get us menus & let us do a to-go order. The other lady wanted nothing to do with us, she glared at us like we were trash. We did place an order with the nicer lady who was working the bar area. We sat in the hall on a bench by the restaurants entrance with our dog and waited for our order which didn't take long. She came & grabbed me when it was ready, made sure I had everything I needed with our order so I tipped her some money for her service. She was fantastic, too bad the blonde lady was so rude! I get that it can be windy but she didn't have to be so mean to us about having a dog. My salad was pretty good, but I agree with the other reviewer, they are overpriced for the quality of the food, but it seems like most places in Astoria were priced similar but I can't say if the food is better at those places or not. Basically if you have a dog, call ahead to make sure they will allow you to sit outside & that they "have a server who can go outside" because we were told there wasn't a server who could go outside. We saw dogs at several other restaurants so I would suggest you go elsewhere with your dog.

Love the Covered Patio

Frite & Scoop

We got to Frite & Scoop right after it opened for the day & it was already really busy but we didn't mind. They have a covered patio & a water bowl for dogs. The fries & ice cream are amazing! I had the foggy lemon which was so yummy. I was bummed when they weren't open the next 2 days we were in Astoria because we would have gone there every day! Most of the stuff is gluten free and they got a clean scoop for me since I have celiac. If you follow them online you can find out the flavors of the day before you arrive. There were lots of doggies there which was great to see. My dog crawled under the table & rested while we ate like she usually does. I wish more places were as dog friendly as this place! There should be a frite & scoop in every town in the US!

Best Stay in Portland!

Oxford Suites Portland - Jantzen Beach

We aren't big fans of Portland due to the traffic which is ridiculous, that said we loved the Oxford! Our dog was welcomed with open arms, though there aren't any special things given to dogs like a water bowl or anything like another reviewer mentioned, at least they weren't offered to us. They do have a great fenced area for dogs with dog poo bags, though you definitely need to watch where you step because there is poo everywhere from dog owners who do not follow the rules which is frustrating for the rest of us.
We had a 2 queen bed room which was really clean & comfortable. They have great soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc. its paraben & chemical free which is wonderful! We were given 2 free drinks each & a free breakfast. They serve a salad bar & soup every evening. Our only other complaint was we had a jackhammer wake us up bright & early right outside our window. It's great they are updating but it would be nice if they didn't put people near where a jackhammer is going to be in use during the morning before checkout time. We still give this 5 stars because it was only 1 night as a place to get some rest since we were coming from Astoria & heading home to Pullman, WA, which is too long of a drive to do in one day so we chose Portland as our place to stay the night before the long journey home.
Oxford Suites seems to be a really great hotel with a lot of amenities at a reasonable price so we would definitely book an Oxford Suites hotel again in the future.

Dog Friendly

Best Western Columbia River Waterfront Hotel Astoria

We stayed in a 2 queen bed room with our dog for 2 days & 3 nights. Our room was really comfortable & super clean. The staff was really nice to our dog. We couldn't really eat the complementary breakfast since dogs aren't allowed in there and my son wasn't comfortable eating alone & I have to be gluten free so I can't even touch the food to bring it to him but I understand why dogs aren't allowed in there for sanitary purposes. We would definitely stay here again with our doggo. We even got to take her on the trolley which was so much fun & stopped right by the hotel.

GF Restaurant

TacoVino

This is a great gluten free restaurant in the heart of Corvallis. They have outdoor seating for people with dogs & give the dogs water bowls. The food is all made from scratch & is so delicious, you wouldn't even know it was gluten free. Traveling with celiac makes it hard to find places to eat & this place far exceeded my expectations, the food was divine! I had the skirt steak tacos & my son had the special of the day which was fried chicken tacos. The tortillas are made in house & they are the best tortillas I have ever had!

Gluten Free Menu & Dog Friendly!

Pacific Kitchen at Nye Beach

This is a great place for the whole family. They have outdoor seating for you & your dog(s), and they give your dogs a water bowl too. The food is incredible! I have to be gluten free & they were very accommodating & they made sure the chef knew I had celiac so I didn't get cross contaminated. My son had the grass fed burger & fries which are not gluten free so they have plenty of choices for gluten eating family members & I had the catch of the day in tacos which was blackened cod. I'm not a fish eater but it was fantastic! I highly recommend eating here, especially if you have any food allergies or celiac, they can accommodate dairy free too!
