Classy, tasty, great views
Pelican Landing RestaurantThis is a nice place to look at super swanky yachts and lovely ocean views, enjoy good food and drinks and bring your dog too. Service was relaxed and friendly and we felt very welcome. Not inexpensive but a real treat. Free parking too, at least while area construction is underway.
Delicious food & enjoyable outdoor seating for dogs
Yum Yum KitchenInnovative food-truck menu, delicious food. Several large picnic benches comfortably shaded and very dog friendly. There's even a feed & tack store next door in case you forgot to bring lunch or a snack for Fido. Cooper gives it two paws up.
A unique dog-friendly dining experience
Guru RestaurantThere are quite a lot of sports/burger bars that have outdoor seating that welcome dogs, and thanks to all of them. But occasionally you want something other than the usual fare when you dine out with Fido. Here's the solution. The Guru offers up delicious Indian food at four covered outdoor patio tables. The chef has had a whole career in restaurants, and his experience shows. The food is delicious, the service prompt and courteous, dogs get some water and some attention, and if he's around the chef may well come out to greet you and discuss the menu with you. All your Indian favorites are here along with a few special options. Beer and wine are served. As a vegetarian I so welcome being able to choose from half the menu rather than one or two predictable things. Check out the Guru, with or without Fido, you will be back more than once.
Great dog friendly restaurant
Cafe Tu Tu TangoLots of delicious small plates. Salads were very good and the Brussels sprouts and Moroccan cauliflower were especially good. Servers were very kind to our dog, brought him water, and he got a lot of petting. Terrific choice for a nice dinner out with friends and dogs.
Fenced in, but that's about all
Church Hill Dog ParkAn unexceptional dog park. It does have fenced in areas, a covered picnic table and a hose for filling a bowl. That's about it. The area is just hard packed dirt and it's a very sloping lot. I would imagine it's very muddy when wet. If you need to run your dog you can accomplish that here but it's nothing to write home about. We saw many people walking dogs in the area and no one but us visitors seemed to bother with the dog park. It's also really far from the GPS location given. Use the map I provided in the photos section instead. The park itself seems lovely, it's too bad they can't make the dog area a little more pleasant.
Great beer, good food & dogs
World of BeerYour dog will be very welcome here. They have a great selection of beer and a frequent-guest program. Food is good and they have both small plates and bigger meals. Outdoor seating is well protected with an awning so neither rain nor the intense Florida sun need mar your experience.
Pleasant dog park
Riverside Dog ParkIt's not a particularly remarkable dog park, but it serves its purpose. There are large and small dog areas. The large dog area is big enough to get a good run. It is next to a sewage treatment plant which is a bit smelly. Perhaps for dogs that's a feature. We went after a very heavy overnight rain and did not notice the puddles another writer reported, so perhaps they've addressed the drainage issues or perhaps it takes more rain to create that problem. We went early and were the only ones there.
Friendly staff, comfortable suites but no free breakfaast
Candlewood Suites Fayetteville Fort Bragg an IHG HotelWe booked through BringFido and the pet fee was only $25 for a very large dog. The staff was pleasant and we felt our dog was welcome. Many suites hotels in this price range provide free breakfast which this one does not; that's the only reason I give it 4 stars not 5. Also be aware you cannot walk your dog on the large grassy area across the parking lot. It is part of a golf course. You really can only walk your dog right around the hotel, in their landscaping. However there's a nice dog park not too far away, Riverside Dog Park.
Great Swimming Spot but gets VERY Crowded
Lake Baldwin ParkIt's impossible not to give this spot 5 bones given that it's one of the few officially dog-friendly swimming areas I've heard of in Central Florida (although I am new to dog ownership here). And it's very dog-friendly. There's a dog washing station so you can clean up after and lots of shady spots with benches, also a covered picnic area with 2 tables. There are restrooms but no showers. The thing you must be aware of is that is place is VERY popular and on a hot weekend day there will be a LOT of dogs, many of them running about rather wildly. And with this many dogs, there are a few irresponsible or unobservant owners that leave poop. However I spotted only 3 piles on a very crowded Saturday so I'd say mostly people are being responsible. My take away for next time: wear my swim suit so I can play ball more efficiently. I did not see humans swimming, but it's hard to stay out of the water if your dog likes to play in it! Oh, and of course, gators: yes, there are gators in this lake. But the bustle of people should keep them away. If you go when it's very quiet (say early morning weekday) I'd be cautious, especially with a small dog. I have heard from a resident they try to get rid of the big gators.
Clean, new, convenient location
Red Roof Inn Wilkes Barre ArenaVery modern, clean and comfortable motel. Good value and right next to the highway. Pets accepted "no bones about it".
