Smooth Sailing for the most part, but no special accommodations for pet owners
Grand Hyatt VailOverall we had a good experience staying at the Grand Hyatt in Vail with our dachshund Oliver and our mini-aussie Sydney. The hotel didn't do anything special to accommodate the dogs (beds, treats, short-term kennels so we can leave them for a few minutes to eat in the restaurant, etc.), but we had no problems with staff or other guests and there's a nice place to walk the dogs with doggie bags provided right out the back door next to the trail that runs east-to-west though Vail. There were also plenty of pet-friendly restaurants nearby, so even though there was really no way to leave the dogs in the room or a short-term kennel at the hotel so we could eat at the dining room there, we were able to walk the dogs down the trail to find a restaurant with an outdoor patio to eat. Fortunately the weather was beautiful, so it wasn't a problem to eat all our meals outdoors.
