The hotel was great! The location is a good one: Right above the beach, with views of the surf and a walkable distance from attractions and conveniences. Georgies restaurant next door was excellent. The room itself was a wee bit on the smaller side, but that was easily offset by the impressive view, the patio right on the bluff, and the fact that the room was immaculately, impressively clean. The quarters were comfortable and well-appointed, with fresh decor. The bed was very comfy and we loved that the room had a ceiling fan. The shower had notably great water pressure, too.
What made our nice stay that much better was the attention to detail and pride that you can tell go in to this hotel. The employees we interacted with were all delightful and gave the impression that they were happy to be there. The room included some really yummy, complimentary (human) snacks.
For the pup, Hallmark went the extra mile. Cricket got a wonderful welcome bag with things like treats, a frisbee for fun at the beach just below the hotel, a water bottle, poop bags, and a towel if she got wet at the beach. They also included a pet sheet; rather than forbidding pets from getting on the bed/furniture, they just asked that we throw the sheet over the top to keep them clean. I thought that was brilliant and it was greatly appreciated. We got the sense that hotel owners/management understand pets and pet people. It was nice feeling like our dog was truly as welcome a guest as we were. If we’re back in Newport, we’ll definitely be staying at the Hallmark.

Loved the beautiful room, the view, the friendly staff, and the very walkable town of Astoria. So did the pup. We were here when the weather was a bit stormy and the room, with a fireplace and view of the ever-changing river, ships, marine wildlife, and misty skies, was an ideal spot to retreat from the rain. The resident sea lions under the pier that periodically put on “shows” just off the room’s deck were a fun surprise. The hotel is in a pretty central area on the Riverwalk. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby, a dog-friendly aquarium a drive away in Seaside, and area beaches for the dogs and humans to enjoy. The Bowline is a delightful hotel in a lovely location.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was lovely and exceptionally clean. While the hotel itself looks like it has been around awhile, the room was very well-maintained with updated furnishings/ decor, and amenities, like a fridge, microwave, and DirecTV. The staff were cheery and accommodating.
It’s located in a quiet neighborhood with good dog-walking potential but also an easy distance to the beaches, restaurants, and the attractions of Cannery Row. It’s a great option if you want to enjoy the touristy things in Monterey but prefer to have a respite from the hustle and bustle.
This was a great, pet-friendly option, as I had a symposium to attend at nearby Asilomar, which did not have pet-friendly accommodation. The walk to my conference couldn’t have been any shorter. I’m definitely putting it on my “would-stay-again” list.

Loved this place! I was quite impressed and our dog certainly seemed to like the place. Our room was great. Lots of natural light, fairly spacious, modern and thoughtful design and amenities, such as a nightlight in the bathroom, a bike rack for cyclists, electric kettle, rain shower, etc. The hardwood floors contributed to the clean, fresh feeling of the place. The Purple mattress was heavenly.
The location was perfect for us - right on Main Street, within walking distance of most of downtown Moab and dog-friendly restaurants. City Market (groceries) is just next door. In addition, it’s right above one of our favorite camping/rec stores, Gearheads (also dog friendly) and was super convenient for us to stock up on supplies for our Green River paddling trip. The hotel offered a list of dog-friendly hikes in the area and there are lots of places in the area to take your pup out for some fun.
The staff were delightful, friendly, and helpful and the communal spaces were clean. We didn’t try the restaurant, but the menu looked intriguing. The only downside is that there aren’t any really great places around the ground for taking the dog out to do her business (no grassy area or yard), but she had no issues finding a place to go on the periphery of the parking lot. That, and that when we returned from our river trip, there were no rooms available for us and I was pretty bummed about that since I loved our first stay so much.

Lovely, clean, well-appointed room and a good location by the river and a riverside park. Restaurants within walking distance and other amenities close by. Trains run close by but the rooms were pretty soundproof.

The hotel itself is great with fun memorabilia. The room was clean and well-appointed but very small. Not too much of an issue for the humans, but the pup seemed to have a slight case of cabin fever and there weren’t too many attractive outside options for a walk. Worth a visit, but good to be prepared for a small space.

Neat little place! We loved the 60’s roadside motel vibe and the thoughtful additions to enhance the experience. While we did not meet the “canine concierge” face-to-face, our pup appreciated the goodies he left for her. As a bonus, nearby restaurant, Del’s, had a dog menu. First time we’d seen that and our dog was quite chuffed to have her own plate. A great experience all-around.

The room was spacious and clean. Plenty of shops and restaurants in the area and not far off the highway. There was easy access to places to walk the dog, including part of a trail system a few blocks away.

The hotel is located right next to a riverside park - a great place to walk the dog and get a bit of exercise. The property was modern and well-appointed. It felt quite pet-friendly. The location was great in that it wasn’t right in the middle of town and offered nice views and walkable outdoor space, but was still close enough (short drive) to all that town had to offer. Friendly staff, decent breakfast, and clean rooms.
